Gambas al Ajillo

A traditional Spanish tapas dish featuring garlic shrimp sautéed in olive oil with a hint of chili.

Ingredients

  • 500g large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Steps

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes and sauté until the garlic is golden brown, about 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add the shrimp to the skillet and season with salt.
  4. Cook the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque.
  5. Remove from heat and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
  6. Serve immediately with lemon wedges.
