Classic Hamburger

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Onion slices
  • Cheddar cheese slices (optional)
  • Ketchup
  • Mustard

Steps

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Form the ground beef into 4 equal patties.
  3. Season both sides of the patties with salt and pepper.
  4. Place the patties on the grill and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness.
  5. If using cheese, place a slice on each patty in the last minute of cooking to melt.
  6. Toast the hamburger buns on the grill for about 1 minute.
  7. Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on the bottom half of each bun.
  8. Top with lettuce, tomato, onion, and any condiments.
  9. Cover with the top half of the bun and serve.
