Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 4 hamburger buns
- Lettuce leaves
- Tomato slices
- Onion slices
- Cheddar cheese slices (optional)
- Ketchup
- Mustard
Steps
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Form the ground beef into 4 equal patties.
- Season both sides of the patties with salt and pepper.
- Place the patties on the grill and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness.
- If using cheese, place a slice on each patty in the last minute of cooking to melt.
- Toast the hamburger buns on the grill for about 1 minute.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on the bottom half of each bun.
- Top with lettuce, tomato, onion, and any condiments.
- Cover with the top half of the bun and serve.
