Tomato Basil Pizza Dough

Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup fresh tomatoes, chopped
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
Steps
- In a small bowl, dissolve sugar and yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.
- Make a well in the flour mixture and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
- Mix until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface.
- Transfer it to a pizza stone or baking sheet.
- Spread the chopped tomatoes and sprinkle basil on top.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden brown.
