Butter Chicken

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 pound chicken breast, cut into pieces
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Steps

  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion, garlic, and ginger; sauté until the onions are translucent.
  3. Stir in the chicken pieces and cook until browned.
  4. Add the crushed tomatoes, garam masala, chili powder, and salt. Stir to combine.
  5. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 15 minutes.
  6. Pour in the heavy cream and mix well. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  7. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
